Orange County SharePoint User Group

I had the opportinity to attend the Orange County SharePoint User Group this evening and it was a refreshing change in the way it has been handled in the past.  There is a completely different location, time, format and much less sales.  The group is now meeting the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the QuickStart office in Irvine.  If you attended the meeting in the past, when it was held at the convenience of the sponsoring sales team (no names given) while on their lunch-break, you will be pleasantly suprised at how differently it is run now.  The sponsoring team is completely different, and they truely understand how a User Group should be run, and it is now at 6:30pm in the evening (when more people can attend).  I wanted to thank all involved with making those changes happen!

The Orange County SharePoint User Group does have a web site; get over there and get involved... It's a great way to learn about SharePoint!

Tonight, Glen Bryant of K2 delivered a non-sales presentation and demonstration of their K2 blackpoint product.  If you have yet to see this product, I highly recommend you go download the free beta version; it's fantastic.  You will be hearing a lot more about this product from me in the very near future.
