Take SharePoint Content Offline

I wanted to make you aware that Colligo has released v3.1 of their Contributor product.  I know, you may be asking "why would I need Colligo when I can take my content offline with Outlook 2007?".  Well that's a good question.  Let me fil you in on a few reasons:

  1. Microsoft Outlook 2007 is a great product; however, it doesn't know anything about SharePoint Content Types or the state of a document.  If you need to take SharePoint content offline and feel confident that all of your metadata, check-in and check-out state are being managed correctly, get a copy of Colligo Contributor.
  2. Colligo Contributor will even synchronize all associated columns that contain lookup data.  Yup, thats right, if you have a metadata column that is a lookup, that can be taken offline too.
  3. Drag-n-drop features you would expect to work, do work in Colligo.  Simply drag and e-mail from your inbox to a Colligo synchronized folder and it is transferred to the associated SharePoint Document Library; without any fuss.

I use Colligo Contributor throughout my entire day.  Anytime I receive or send an e-mail that is associated with a project, it is automatically added to the Project's E-Mail Journal.  In my Project Center, I have a SharePoint Site for every project.  When the Site is provisioned, an E-Mail Journal Document Library is created; this is where all project related e-mails go!

Bottom line is; these guys do it right.

If you pick-up a copy, please tell my friends at Colligo you got the message from me!

You can download the FREE version of their Reader product here.
