Jefferson City Missouri Week of July 21st

So... I will be in Jefferson City Missouri the week of July 21st.  This is somewhere I have never been so I am hoping I can find something to do!

Do you live near or around this area?  If so, want to get together for coffee or dinner?

One might be asking "why the heck would you be going there Bob?"  Well... thats a darn good question.  I don't suppose I would be going for any reason other than to work maybe?  Yep, I am headed to a customer's site to deliver our SharePoint Planning, Information Architecture and Design workshop; in a private setting.  I am really looking forward to it.  As I said, I have never been to Jefferson City and I always enjoy new places; adventures are a blast...

Hi Bob,

Long time reader, first time commenter. I went to grade school and high school in Jefferson City. Its mostly a town of state workers and families who have been there forever that own many of the non-state businesses. Since the capitol and all the legislators, lobbyists etc. are downtown, that is where the interest would be to an out of town traveler. If Arris Pizza is still there (downtown on High Street) then I highly recommend eating there. Same for Madison's Cafe downtown.  The Capitol is grand by state capitol standards and worthy of a tour and walk around the outside courtyards and fountains - especially in the evening, say after dinner at Arris or Madison's.

One thing to keep in mind... its hot and humid and buggy... so plan and dress accordingly.

Hi Mike,

This is great stuff; thank you very much!  I really am looking forward to the trip.  And I will definately look into the recommended resturants; food is also one of my passions. :)

I live in Kansas City and I am from St. Louis.  He does not lie when he says "hot and muggy"...Expect 100 degree + weather with humidity...You are not too far from either St. Louis or Kansas City.
